Police catch 15 migrant workers on Chinese-run construction site in Thailand..
This is the dramatic moment police caught illegal migrant workers at a Chinese-run construction site in Thailand.
Authorities on Thursday raided a large factory construction in Chonburi in a crackdown on unauthorised foreign workers in the country.
They found builders pouring concrete and installing a cargo lift in the building.
When they announced their presence, panicked workers dropped their tools and raced to the back of the property trying to escape.
Footage shows cops chasing down the fleeing suspects who were bolting toward woodland next to the factory.
Officers rounded up all the workers for document checks and found 15 individuals working without permits. Five were Chinese and 10 were Myanmar nationals.
The suspects were arrested and taken to Koh Chan Police Station, where they were charged with working without valid work permits before being handed over to investigators for legal action.
The operation was carried out by the Chonburi Provincial Employment Office and the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) as part of the Ministry of Labour's ongoing crackdown on illegal foreign workers.
Officials also inspected three other locations in the Phanat Nikhom and Koh Chan districts following complaints from the public.
A total of 490 workers were checked, including 83 Thais, 35 Chinese nationals, 367 Myanmar nationals and five Laotian nationals.
Officials said most had valid work permits, with only one additional Myanmar worker allegedly found working illegally.
Authorities said they are also preparing charges against the employers of the foreign workers as the investigation continues.
